Slovakia big on toy exports

Slovakia in recent years has become one of the fastest growing exporters of toys in Europe.
Compared with 2005, the export of toys from Slovakia has increased almost 10-fold. The Slovak Republic is also one of only four countries in the European Union (EU), with exports higher than imports. These results are brought by a recent analysis made by UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia. Slovak companies last year exported toys worth more than €130 million. "This is in comparison with 2005, a tenfold increase. Also in 2014, exports of toys from Slovakia continued to grow. In the first eight months, year on year, by 8.1%," said the banks analyst Ľubomír Koršňák. Nearly all the production of Slovak toys was intended for the internal European market. Almost three quarters pointing to neighboring countries, mostly, about a third, to the Czech Republic. "If people want to look at foreign trade toys with the mark Made in Slovakia, they should first pick on the trade of electric trains. That is because they represent more than a fifth of Slovakia's toy exports, while Slovakia is the third largest European exporter after Germany and Hungary with the 12% share of the EU countries" quantified Koršňák. The relatively strong position in Slovakia is also Europe's exports of plastic toys and models incorporating a motor, wooden puzzles or plastic assembly kits. The largest exporter of toys in Europe is the neighboring Czech Republic, with exports worth €1.8 billion per year, who overtook Germany.
