Slovakia earmarked €5.3 million to help refugees

The Slovak Government has earmarked €5.3 million as this country's contribution to solving the current migration crisis. About €3 million is to be given to the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis which was established in December 2014. The money should be used to cover the needs of Syrian refugees, mainly in Lebanon and Turkey. An additional €1.7 million should go to funds and programmes managed by the United Nations such as the World Food Programme, UNICEF, UNHCR and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).
