Government asked to stop IT projects worth €300 million

The anti-corruption watchdog Fair-play Alliance and the Slovensko.Digital platform have asked the Interior, Transport and Education Ministries to revise four large IT projects worth €300 million in total. They believe these projects are overpriced. The list contains the System for Supervising the Observance of Road Traffic Regulations, the Edunet project for a central connection of schools to the internet and two information systems linked to construction industry. The two organisations will send a letter to Prime Minister Robert Fico, asking him to adopt systemic solutions to prevent overpricing and useless investment. They will present these proposals at a meeting of the Government Council for Public Administration Digitalisation on Thursday, February 4.
