Slovak company denies any links to dead migrants found in Austria

The Slovak poultry company whose logo was on the lorry where the bodies of 71 dead migrants were found by Austrian police on Thursday says it had sold the vehicle to another firm last year. The lorry had Hungarian licence plates. "The case is being investigated by the Regional Police Directorate in cooperation with Federal Criminal Court in Vienna. Such a tragic case with that large a number of dead migrants has never happened before in Austria, at least I don't register any such case", said Alexandra Hareter, spokesperson of Regional Police Directorate in Burgenland. The Austrian Interior Ministry confirmed that the migrants who were in the vehicle most likely suffocated and although one Syrian travel document was found in the car it's not possible at the moment to give more details about their nationalities. Police have launched a search for the smugglers responsible arresting three people in Austria. A Romanian citizen has already been arrested by the Hungarian police in connection to this case. Austrian Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner called the case a "black day" for her country.
